Now that the Tomlin era is dead....
...and the organization is being purged completely from the foul stench of Tomlin’s sycophantic coaching staff, can we finally purge these shit jerseys and go back to the block numbers?
It’s a perfect time to reset everything.
New block jerseys will disconnect next years team visually from the Tomlin era. Art (or some other Rooney) seems to want a clean break. Let’s make it complete!

Both!
You have to wear that beauty to the draft.... but after, I’d frame it and display it proudly in your home!

Did anyone defile or destroy their Saint Tomlin shirts?
I still have mine, its a bit ragged. It doesn't get worn in public.

Some traditions should be revived, some should die a natural death.
No more Terrible Towel or Renegade, get back to block numbers.
If the new era is good, let the new traditions evolve organically.

Agree with the sentiment of renewal and reviving the block numbers.
Renegade (and Styx) have never not sucked IMO, even in their hackneyed prime as a 70s, 2nd-tier FM radio staple, and its lasting popularity in the Burgh exposed the somewhat backwoodsy Appalachian flavor of the audience. Almost causing other cities' use of -- to cite another example of a cliched, heavily-overplayed "anthem" -- Eye Of The Tiger, to appear kind of edgy and modern.
However, the Tahl® ain't goin nowhere. It's Myron Cope's authentic, original, brilliant creation and might be the most imitated and admired fan accessory in all of sports. Propelled to national prominence by Swann's & Stallworth's enthusiastic on-field twirling in the '75 playoffs, Terrible Towel sales have raised untold millions for charitable causes like the Pittsburgh facility that cared for Cope's handicapped son. Love for the Tahl.
Ok, we now return to the previous scorched-earth, post-Tomlin bulldozing, already in progress
I have a couple of Father George shirts still kicking around. The "When you play Pittsburgh, you play the whole city" one finds its way to my back every now and then... memories...StillMadAtSlobber wrote: ↑Fri Jan 16, 2026 2:17 pmThis begs a question that occurred to me earlier this week.DumlinBumlinStumlin wrote: ↑Fri Jan 16, 2026 12:34 amDo I frame the fire Tomlin jersey?
