How We'll Win
Ok, the extreme fuckin optimist in me talking.
The primary issue from all the analyst seems to be how are the Steelers going to score points. Here's how. We're going to have Kenny G and Jaylen on the field at the same time, lining up Kenny G in the slot frequently. Going to keep either the sixth offensive lineman or two tight ends on the field as well. Get the hands into the top three playmaker that we have… Muth, kenny go and jaylen. I still think we see CA three take the top off of this defense once.
And then defensively everyone expected Miami to run the ball on the Steelers… Didn't happen. Detroit… Didn't happen I'm looking for a big game from TJ on his return and containing that Baltimore running game, and then, looking for Lamarre to do it Lamarre always does against the Steelers and turn the ball over
Tomlin seems to do his best against Harbaugh. It happens again Steelers win.

I think we'll know pretty quickly how this game is going to go. They aren't going to be dumb enough to ignore Henry again, so I expect a heavy dose of him early. Steelers either shut it down or Henry starts ripping off 8 yards per carry. From watching Henry dozens of times it's usually pretty binary, and once he gets going he almost never gets slowed down. Which is why we'll know in Q1.
Steelers will score 20-23. I see either:
35-20 Ravens with Henry running wild or
23-17 Steelers with Henry mostly contained and Lamar forced to win the game.
Interesting game on many levels. Including Tomlin, Harbaugh, Jackson and Rodgers all getting "disrespect" in the national media.

Many of us here have been chirping the same thing. Just more Jibba Jabber square peg round hole bullshit.A former Steeler voiced his concerns about someone in particular on the Steelers' defense on Tuesday. On his podcast, the Deebo and Joe show, former Steelers linebacker James Harrison pointed at the concerns he has for nose tackle Keeanu Benton. Harrison and Joe Haden were discussing the Steelers' defense, when Harrison didn't hold back with the Steelers' third-year nose tackle.
"If they're doing that down in and down out, nah. I see too much trying to swim over, get over this, dip and dives, because he ain't got the anchor," Harrison explained. "I ain't gonna lie, I ain't seen him hold a double [team] yet. And that's what you've got to do. When you're a three-interior, they've got to be able to anchor. "
If Henry runs over our asses again this is a good place to start looking.

The Ravens team plane erupts in a fireball shortly after take off.
D will work ok, they've been getting better. I can see them kicking Henry's ass early.
If the idiot Harball decides to go away from Henry it will decide the game.
Lamar is a flake, sad to say. Thought he was better. Could go a few ways.
He's legit injured and is showing his toughness and will prove his dtractors wrong.
Or he will get hit once and fall apart like a douche and start bitching and moaning on the sideline for everyone to see.
This is Lamar's game to lose imo.
I don't consider the Steelers an actual football team.

"I'm institutionalized, man," he joked. "I gotta have it. I just love the challenges week in and week out that this job provides: the growth in it, the collective growth, the individual growth."
I'd be more worried about Huntley at QB than a beat to hell Lamar. One good blind side hit and that low back will be in spasm again
Ya but this is a win or go home game. Our linebackers typically get held off the stat sheet in those type of affairs.

In the past 5 games facing a team where the QB is considered a legit running threat, the Steelers have given up an average of 176.4 rush yards per game. In the past 9 such games, they've given up an average of 184 yards. In the past 3 games vs Ravens, they've given up an average of 245.3 yards per game.swissvale72 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 02, 2026 9:29 pmOk, the extreme fuckin optimist in me talking.

Now, that's not saying they're going to lose strictly based on those statistics, but the point is that they give up more to RBs who play alongside mobile QBs. They also give up more to TEs when the threat of the RB and QB run game keeps them occupied.
The Steelers path to win this game:
1. Harbaugh outthinks himself
2. Lamar's physical ability or psychological willingness is compromised
3. They play offense opposite of type-- basically put a whole new offensive plan in, use players in unexpected ways, attack the middle... sucker Baltimore in to gearing up to stop what we ALWAYS do and then hit them with things that counter that starting with the first snap of the game. i.e.: coaching the shit out of the game on the offensive side

Heard a stat on The Fan. Tomlin is 7-1 in home games against the Ravens as an underdog.

If memory serves the rat defense struggles versus the run.
RUN the ball. Offense
STOP the Run. Defense
Attrition Football. Right up the alley for a coach like Teflon.

I appreciate that very much. Long time coming- for me.
I'll celebrate it a bit by attending the draft, with a hope that it will be a memorably good one.

One of my friend's dad was an early days computer programmer and he built a desktop widget that counted down the seconds until his retirement eligibility. I think he had it running for 20 years. Every day right in front of him, it was counting down. On the last day, the whole office gathered around it and watched the countdown. When it got to zero, he grabbed a couple of things off his desk and walked out the door without saying a word to anyone. I think he might have been a psychopath.AirRescueFF wrote: ↑Sun Jan 04, 2026 4:16 ambradshaw2ben wrote: ↑Sat Jan 03, 2026 5:34 pmCongrats on your retirement! Congrats AirRescueFF, enjoy the heck out of it.
First I thought the league hates Rogers and Loves Lamar and that’ll doom us on ref calls and no-calls not going to go our way at all.
Then, I believe the homer in me cooked up some optimism and gave me the idea that we may get the calls in some slimmer of hope that the league will not allow Fraudlin to go down in flames when they can use Harbaugh as the scapegoat and pit Lamar vs Harbaugh making it appear they’re both coaching with their job “on the line”.
This game is is a coin flip
Both teams have so many IFs
Ravens have a better team but Lamar has played so poorly and he is so prone to dumb mistakes in big moments
Steelers main variant is will they do ANYTHING different and that is limited due to injuries and suspension
The smart money is Steelers will play this super conservative …. using short pass a lot and banking on Lamar mistakes. If ravens have wrinkles again on Henry runs … PA and QB runs … I think Steelers are in trouble especially if they cling to attrition O
If Steelers turn it over they are sunk and that fear is what I think will drive Tomlin
Maybe they will come out and break tendencies but I doubt it

Slow clap Swiss! Excellent prognostication. Does a Sonny and Cher song play when you wake up every morning?swissvale72 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 02, 2026 9:29 pmOk, the extreme fuckin optimist in me talking.

well i was wrong about lamar / aside from one dumb play had a good game
i was not wrong that that ravens D has zero pass rush and is abysmal on 3rd downs - that is main reason steelers won
they will not get that luxury next week
i expect a super super super conservative game plan
although - texans D didn't look so hot today

Fraudlin is easy to game plan for…. ie… (square peg/round hole)
Just expect super conservative easing in attrition football and run up the score on him as soon as possible and often.

Hamilton doesn’t get ear-holed by his own teammate, I don’t think the passing opens up for Rodgers and Muth.Gonzo wrote: ↑Mon Jan 05, 2026 5:22 amwell i was wrong about lamar / aside from one dumb play had a good game
