Tomlin is rubbing that trade in the dolphins face.
Minkah gets stiffed armed to the ground on a TD catch and run
Smith gets a TD run
Ramsey sacks Tua

He's eligible to come back off I/R still, think this is either his 3rd or 4th week to miss.jeemie wrote: ↑Tue Dec 16, 2025 3:31 amIsn't Brod out for the season?StillerDownSouth wrote: ↑Tue Dec 16, 2025 3:29 am
If Semu is out, might be a good time to go ahead and move Brod to left guard.

I actually love this model of the Smith offense but this team has to find a way to start faster. They are virtually tortoise like speed out of the gates
“Thoughts are a waste of time for me.” - Michael Pettaway Tomlin
The Dolphins scraped what...maybe a hundred yards of total offense in the first half? They barely had the ball and did little with it when they did. Six yards per carry doesn't mean jack shit when you couldn't convert a third down until halfway through the second quarter. The only thing the Dolphins had going was a lot of hard hitting and even that died down after two grind it out Steeler TD drives to bookend halftime.CKSteeler wrote: ↑Tue Dec 16, 2025 3:21 amArchane was averaging over 6 YPC in the first half. Offense actually looks competent, especially this half.
Only minor blemish on this game is the special teams. Two penalties on that crew, mediocre return game.
And the Steelers didn't make anyone quit. The Dolphins did that all on their own.

Complete quit by dolphins No question
They didn’t even try on that

They have one of the top rushing games in the leaguejeemie wrote: ↑Tue Dec 16, 2025 3:32 amMiami isn't great but they are also not a bottom feederCKSteeler wrote: ↑Tue Dec 16, 2025 3:30 amTomlin is always aggressive against bottom feeders but puckers up when it matters.
Remember when they started going for 2 pointers with Ben towards the end of Haley's tenure? At least at the start of the year when the games were meaningless or the competition was soft. It's like when Tomlin is feeling it he slaps the bottom feeders with his ballsack, but it shrivels up and goes inside his body when facing an actual playoff team.
And just look at about 25% of the early post in this thread; their D came out on fire, and kicking ass with their tackling.
I'd say Rodgers & Gainwell is what ended up making them quit.

To be fair, recently it's been late in games where they've sucked the most.Orangesteel wrote: ↑Tue Dec 16, 2025 3:33 amI actually love this model of the Smith offense but this team has to find a way to start faster. They are virtually tortoise like speed out of the gates
Tua sucks but the Steelers kicked their ass.
Very nice. Good win.

Okay, now let's try to almost lose.

The D that prevents Steelers fans from feeling comfortable in the 4th quarter

Yep. Here we go.
3 and out on offense, and another td drive on the defense, and another 3 and out on offense...

I know it's been requested for years, and if I'm remembering correctly has only been successful once, but why can't we do that exact thing with Darnell in those short goal line situations? He usually has 6"+ on the Dbs.

This feels eerily similar to the Minnesota and Indianapolis games. Completely shut them down for 3 quarters and then let them back in the game.Sir Lambert wrote: ↑Tue Dec 16, 2025 3:43 amYep. Here we go.

Fortunately we won both of those but not without wondering if we'd end up losing
Friendly reminder the Steelers voted to ban the tush push this past offseason.
Oh well, they punted.

Again ST miscue. Low snap, waitman was lucky to get that off. ST has been meh tonight.

That's great. You specifically praised the run defense. I pointed out that if the Dolphins had come out set on running it down their throats instead of putting it in Tua's hands, and had their defense not quit in the second half, it would probably look a lot different based on the fact that they were quite successful doing it when they tried.drmalba wrote: ↑Tue Dec 16, 2025 3:33 amThe Dolphins scraped what...maybe a hundred yards of total offense in the first half?
