The Steelers really need to find what he has before you try to trade up in this draft

Better chance of fraudlin being fired….
No way does Howard see the field other than from the sideline with a tablet in his hands.

This team is full of cowards that can’t think beyond the next series, the next game etc.
Foolishly believing they are a play here and a play there from competing for a championship.
They aren’t even playing the same sport other teams in this league are on the offensive side of the ball.

Maybe losing 3-4 will point them I. The right direction
Does activating Howard get us any closer to 9 wins?
Don't see it happening.

I would say the only chance for Howard to play, barring injury–a 9th Steelers loss before the end of the season.
Who am I kidding: the genius braintrust will be playing all their aging starters to the bitter end, trying to win as many games as they can and get a worse draft slot.

Yes, NHALS and the playoffs would need to be completely out of reach. Which is probably 9 - not 8 - losses. 6-9 seems very unlikely, but ideally you'd like to see Howard at least 3 games.bradshaw2ben wrote: ↑Tue Nov 11, 2025 2:12 pmI would say the only chance for Howard to play, barring injury–a 9th Steelers loss before the end of the season.
Maybe the flip side is they won't draft a QB this year, given where they'll be picking. And they'll see what they have in Will Howard next year. But a great example of the futility bringing in a HOF QB at the very end of his career in desperate pursuit of NHALS, and maybe a playoff win.
Waste an entire year when we should have been finding out if Will Howard can be "the guy". Continued malpractice at the QB position. This organization no longer possesses the mentality to win championships.
It's close to a zero percent chance. The Steelers would have to out of the playoff chase, no chance at NHALS, AND Rodgers would have to be injured. Even at, say, 6-9 there is no way they bench Rodgers for performance. He'd have to be legit hurt for Howard to play.
Besides, would we really get a accurate look at Howard with zero preseason snaps leading an offense with very little going for it? Small sample + crappy environment is not a good base for decision making. I guess it would be preferable than no information but just barely. Whatever happens with Howard this year should not impact the decision to draft a QB next year. That would be poor process.

As has been noted, I think there’s almost 0 chance Will Howard sees the field this season
In regard to drafting a quarterback next year, at this point, I’m not sure there will be a quarterback within reach, that merits the draft to obtain
I’d be more inclined to draft a left tackle, another guard, a corner back, a real three down inside linebacker, a couple more bodies on the D line, and roll with Will Howard next season; rather than waste a bunch of draft capital To trade up in efforts to pick a rookie QB that will be mismanaged by this coaching staff

Not. Chance in Hell a long as long as Tomlin is coach and even less chance if there us any hope of NHALS

The 4th quarter of the Chargers debacle last week would have been a perfect time to send a bit of a message to Rodgers, light a little fire under his ass AND get Will some meaningful "lets see what you got" snaps.
