Fine, but the Steelers had a great chance to win until JC coughed it up.IncarceratedBob wrote: ↑Sun Sep 22, 2019 11:29 pmAnd how bout Mason ? Horrible. Bench both of them.

“Being a fan is fine, but there is a line you can cross that makes it really unhealthy,” said Ken Yeager, PhD, a mental health expert in the department of psychiatry at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center.
Mason was starting his first ever game in the NFL. Finished with 2 TD passes after Fitchner called the first half like his QB was Corky from "Life Goes On".IncarceratedBob wrote: ↑Sun Sep 22, 2019 11:29 pmAnd how bout Mason ? Horrible. Bench both of them.

Conner fumbled the game away when we had the lead and the ball.
The o-line was beyond inconsistent. The kid RARELY had any time to throw.
His only TE left the game early.
I mean.....that's just a stupid take.

Eerily familiar...no need for another amazing tackle by Roethlisberger this year.
Unbelievable.

This game was won then Conner got the ball.
Conner is small time. He isn’t going to win us games. Time to move on.

Conner this year:
34 carries for 99 yards, 1 TD, 1 huge fumble.
Has been completely ineffective as a receiver as well.

Bell fumbled the game last week but everyone loves them some leveon.
Yeah, Conner didn't do that well, but shit. The Niners fumbled the ball away how many times?

Arguing with idiots is like playing chess with a pigeon. No matter how good you are, the pigeon is going to shit on the board and strut around like it won anyway.
Conner now has a history.
He had a big fumble against the Browns last year. Didn't lose the game but it was a game changer.
Then the huge fumble at Denver which, along with Grimble's incredibly massive fumble crossing the goal line, was a game changer.
Today's fumble was a GAME LOSER. End of story.

I can't stand Le'veon Bell. Today's fumble by Conner was atrocious at the very worst time in the game. Time to rethink out feature back.

Not disagreeing with that, but JuJu fumbled away the season last year.
I get it though.

That's the only big fumble JuJu has had and he plays 16 games. He isn't a 10 game a year China Doll and he has put up phenomenal numbers.
Conner is a fumbling, bumbling idiot when the game is on the line.
Great guy, but a choker.

In Conner’s defense, you can see him trying to win the game on nearly every rush. He is trying to do too much, most likely due to the ineptitude in all the other facets of the game. Feels like he is pressing.
Time to start Snell and see what happens. Conner has been playing like a tranny for three games now. Also, anytime banjo player Fitch thinks about trotting Grimble out onto the field, he should bring the Switzinator instead. 4wr no te, or 3wr 1te is more Rudy's speed.
He was part of that ineptitude. Conner wasn't impressive in any way.LakecrestSteeler wrote: ↑Mon Sep 23, 2019 1:10 amIn Conner’s defense, you can see him trying to win the game on nearly every rush. That fumble was Bettis-esque. EVERYBODY knows you're running the ball and you have one job: don't fumble.
Even if you're correct and Conner was trying to do too much....that's no excuse. The fumble was inexcusable, ESPECIALLY WITH A YOUNG QB STARTING HIS FIRST EVER NFL GAME.

I don't understand the run game at all right now. Whatever they thought this line was good at doing, it can't do it now.
Hopefully Fichtner has seen that Rudolph can chuck it downfield and they will open it up a little more next week. Whatever is ailing the run game this year will not get fixed with defenses not respecting the passing game and loading up to stop it.

Conner’s style is spastic. He’s a try hard but there is no fluidity to his running, it’s just get the ball and bang into everything and see if you can fall forward. Ball security though? Now a massive issues. Fuck the fucking coaches for letting Samuels rot in the bench.
Was watching Kamara today almost side by side with Conner; not even close. Kamara is a legit RB. Gotta love Conner as a dude but we cannot afford the slightest mistakes and he’s not helping.
We are in TROUBLE

You guys are brutal.
The Steelers got 5 turnovers and you're all focused on Conner's fumble. I get it - end of game, in our own end. Game over.
But it never should have gotten to that point. IF the O-line played like they should - like they're paid to do. And IF Fichtner and Tomlin actually have a offensive game plan that consists of more than some random plays being called.
The game was lost well before Conner's fumble. Somehow they were still ahead but the game should have been over by then no way it should have been a 3 point lead.

But here are the key factors why Conner is getting grilled:
1) He's got a history of butter hands
2) If he doesn't fumble, the Steelers have a victory. Even if they don't pick up a first down, their chances of winning go up tremendously
Swiss was right about Conner.SixTrophies wrote: ↑Mon Sep 23, 2019 2:51 pmYou guys are brutal.

I was wrong.
The guy is a big fumble waiting to happen, EVEN WHEN IT'S OBVIOUS THE LAST THING THAT CAN HAPPEN IS A FUMBLE.
Conner will fumble anyway.
Wait, what the fuck? "The game was lost well before Conner's fumble"? Dafuq are you talking about.
The Steelers had the lead and the ball. Late in the game. Get fucking real.

I get being pissed off at Conner. Natural reaction. I was pissed too. But, if you go rewatch that play, it is more nuanced. There were 3 guys in the backfield almost immediately. 49ers had an eight man front and every single one of them was attacking the run. There was 5:37 left to play in the game. So, in short:
1. We ran into an eight man front.
2. Our oline got bitched like they had the whole game.
3. Conner fumbled as he is prone to do at times.
We are running the ball incredibly poorly right now. I don't know where this "elite" Oline is. Feiler got tooled all day on the pass rush. Foster is getting no movement (probably because his spare tire is even bigger this year). Pouncey has been on skates and AV is off to his usual slow start. Only DD is redeemable and even he missed a blitz today.
Snell, Samuels...heck even Barry Sanders wouldn't be running very effectively behind that Oline.

This isn't the first time in NFL history where a team with the lead is running into an 8 man frontfranco32 wrote: ↑Mon Sep 23, 2019 3:14 pmI get being pissed off at Conner. Natural reaction. Connor's job isn't to get yards. It's his ONLY JOB to not fumble and stay in bounds.
Getting yards is a bonus. Losing yards is an unfortunate consequence in these situations
Connor failed at his job yesterday
No nuance about that play whatsoever.franco32 wrote: ↑Mon Sep 23, 2019 3:14 pmI get being pissed off at Conner. Natural reaction. I was pissed too. EVERYBODY ON THE PLANET KNOWS YOU'RE RUNNING THE BALL.
Of course the Niners are going to be in an 8 man front. It could have been an 11 man front and we were still going to run it (especially with a young QB).
Conner had one job on the play. DON'T FUMBLE.

If everyone on the planet knows we are running, why is play action illegal in the Tomlin playbook?
I get it. Conner fcked up and I'm not happy about it. But, the problems on O are much bigger than Conner right now. That Oline better get its act together or Mason will be killed.
