Josh Allen

Post by swissvale72 » Tue Jan 28, 2025 4:09 pm

I think Josh Allen's a fuckin beast and an amazing qb. He was the one guy i most feared steelers going up against in the playoffs.

BUT...and unfair as this might sound, when I think of Tom Brady and Patrick mahomes, I think of guys you didn't want to face if they needed a TD in the last couple of minutes to win a game.

Now, acknowledging that Allen did come through, twice, in the 13 second loss in '21, I'll remember that this year, he had the ball and a chance for a historic game winning drive to get to the Super Bowl, much like bens drive to win the Super Bowl in 08, and just couldn't get it done.

Sorry, I like Josh allen, he seems like a good dude...but in this instance, on the verge of history, couldn't get it done...and yeah, I know dalton kincaid shoulda made that catch

To be fair you are comparing Allen to two of the greatest to ever play the game.

It was a bit infuriating to to see the QB sneak go to the same spot every time, when KC was teeing off on that gap and shutting it down pretty well.

that was a coaching fail. They had better success with RPO at other times in the game.

Just stupid

I agree and was yelling about that all game -- they just kept pounding their fist into a cement wall? The RPO from the sho/Allen seemed to be unstoppable for one yard needed

The last time they lined up in sneak mode was where they should have faked it and did a toss or a quick hitting pass.

I remember that game against Cleveland when it was 4th and 1 at their own 48 and and Mahomes was hurt so Chad Henne was in the game.

Everyone thought they'd punt, but Andy Reid rolled Henne out and he hit Tyreek Hill for the game clinching first down.

Plays like that help teams win big playoff games.

Doing what you do sends you home early just about every time.

Fast and loose Josh Allen....loses
Tight and conservative Josh Allen...loses

The common theme is Josh Allen loses.

I'll never forget the game they lost to the Bungles in the snow where Allen kept whipping the ball down field while Burrow just took the easy underneath completions. It's coaching and over-aggression at times. More conservative approach didn't work this go around, either.

Once again, I had a sense that Mahomes n’em were gonna score as many points as they needed. Period. Full stop.

But the Allen sneak, to the same spot. Against the heavy package and a bulldozer blade for good measure was just stupid.

It is a little frustrating though, that Mahomes gets to bounce his passes to his receivers, whole all the other guys gotta complete their passes on the fly.

I mean, he is the greatest quarterback of all times (I’m callin’ it right now, and I’m not being sarcastic). He really DOESN’T NEED THE HELP.

And dude shoulda caught that Allen pass. But he didn’t. And it wouldn’t have made a difference anyway. They weren’t gonna win.

kincaid catches the pass and I think they win
kincaid blew it and IMO his effort (or awareness) when he came up short on that 3rd down wasnt the best

Looking at the more expansive vid, I'll give Kincaid a break in this regard. Cuz Josh was forced to throw the ball up, Kincaid needed to reverse direction before diving for the ball. Still shoulda had it though.

And if he does, do the bill use the remaining time, score a TD to win the game...barring another 13 second miracle, and this time, chiefs woulda needed a TD

Please. Mahomes will be GOAT runner up if he wins his fourth but get back to me when he wins 7 Presentism is a scourge and Brady wasn't that long ago
The surest way to corrupt a youth is to instruct him to hold in higher esteem those who think alike than those who think differently.

Take away all the Super Bowls Brady won in seasons where the league knew he was cheating and didn’t stop him, and he becomes a lot more human.

Also, Brady was a LOT more ordinary when you put him on the ground early.

Mahomes has no such shortcomings. He plays quarterback like a point guard. Dude is the Magic Johnson of quarterbacks.
