You seem like a typical yinzer Pickett simpLakecrestSteeler wrote: ↑Fri Mar 15, 2024 7:13 pmWell Pickett never got a fair shake with Canada being the OC.
I know some of you had him written off already. I was pretty close as well, but my write off had asterisks.
Hope it blows up in Tomlin's face and then we can get a new head coach that knows offense or can hire people that will actually develop into a coaching tree.
Thought the Wilson trade was good with Pickett in the mix and each pushing each other for a starting job.
Now the Wilson trade is awful!
Guaranteed elbow or Achilles injury coming up!
Wow! You may be right
Edit - with money needed for Russ and Justin I can’t see it

Two 7ths and a swap of 4ths is way better value than Kenny was worth. I’m shocked this organization actually realized the mistakes they made and dumped Lik Ken, Dionte and Canada in a few month span
Stunning that the Pickett era is over already LOL
Throw. The. Football. On. First. Down.
Steelers players must be going wild texting each other
Russ is still a 1 year rental, so there has to be some sort of bigger picture plan.
They still need a center, a right tackle, and they capable starting receiver to play opposite Pickens
+2 back up quarterbacks
You have to assume they’re going for receiver and free agency, because you need that person to start right away
The offensive line positions I suspect they’ll fill through the draft, with center being the most urgent at the moment

Yeah I mean when summarizing it like that, it’s pretty damn wild.Steelperch wrote: ↑Fri Mar 15, 2024 7:15 pmTwo 7ths and a swap of 4ths is way better value than Kenny was worth. These aren’t your typical Steelers!

If we go riding into opening day with Wilson and scrub backups, March 16th is the day the Steelers turned into the Pirates!
I will withhold judgement until the dust settle on offseason moves.
Reading that the defense reached out to Wilson….like they are not at fault, and Wilson can come in and the defense will miraculously be able to stop Allen and Mahomes.

This makes perfect sense. We traded one of our 2 4ths for a third round pick, and that is the current asking price for Fields.

This gives me hope that the organization is changing its ways a little bit. Shrewd move but the right one. Pickett is a bona-fide bum.

Just to summarize:
Steelers get:
Pick 3.98 (Eagles comp pick)
A pair of 2025 7th rounders (Eagles had FOUR 7th round picks next year)
Eagles get:
Pick 4.20
Kenny Pickett

I would absolutely bring in Fields on a backup deal if they can do so without sending a bunch of picks.
His “worth” is in the tank right now.

Well....I guess if you got a Steelers #8 jersey you can swap the nameplate back to Maddox?

Completely agree. I don’t understand how people don’t see the pick swap as good value for a quarterback we all wanted to get rid of anyway. I love it.Steelperch wrote: ↑Fri Mar 15, 2024 7:15 pmTwo 7ths and a swap of 4ths is way better value than Kenny was worth. In their current state, I hate everything about this organization.

I am actually disappointed. Not in the Steelers, but in Pickett.
He had just witnessed Rudolph emerge from the proverbial bottom of the barrel to be a season saver and fan favorite. Pickett would have had much more going for him during his bench tenure than Mason did.
Good that he is gone though if he did not want to stay. Futhermore, impressive that the lockerroom hardly let out a peep with regards to his being upset about being benched for Rudolph late in the season. The other players had to know.

Im gonna drink a beer today.
And rejoice. Unfuckinbelievable.

He REFUSED to dress as the 3rd string QB against the Seahawks when we were fighting to make the playoffs.
Fuck him. Should have left his ass in the PNW with me.

I will add the caveat that if they pull off a big draft move for a bonafide FQB, then it was a genius move. But if we go riding into the season with Wilson and some scrubs….JHFC!
Picket was never going to make it. He has too many deficiencies
and clearly a shitty attitude

Well as Steve Young says…if you are a great QB you do things so that you eventually get to showcase your talents and rise to the top no matter the situation. Great QBs find a way. Kenny either sabotaged his career or went to a great situation where he can backup and relieve Hurts. If he is legit he did what he needed to do. If not he sabotaged his career.PennyBacker wrote: ↑Fri Mar 15, 2024 7:25 pmI am actually disappointed. Not in the Steelers, but in Pickett.

Pickett is trash, his on field play showed it. Because Colbert over drafted a career back up and they dumped him after year two they suddenly are the Pirates? You let your fandom of some second rate college program cloud your judgment.LakecrestSteeler wrote: ↑Fri Mar 15, 2024 7:19 pmIf we go riding into opening day with Wilson and scrub backups, March 16th is the day the Steelers turned into the Pirates!

I’m thinking we trade that number 98 pic for Justin Fields or sign another free agent quarterback like Ryan Tannehill and spend that pic on a mid round QB like Joe Milton or something
