Add to that #39 G checked #18 and no one said anything or did anything to #39.Rod & Wire Mill wrote: ↑Wed Nov 29, 2023 7:13 pmWatching this team the last couple years there’s no possible way this is still the policy, process, program. There’s just way too much and too consistent dumbassery by the whole organization, let alone the on-field product. For example, Canada, his offense and its execution.
I do not feel that there's any more dumbassery than normal, but I feel like the margin of error that allows us be dumbasses and get wins is smaller. But in the meantime the Steelers are 5 for 50 in penalties (9th) take out some questionable Roughing the Passer we are higher, tops in turnover margin and top five in allowing points which signifies a well disciplined team that isn't hurting themselves with penalties, turnovers, and breakdowns in the red zone. And once #89 set sail just aren't seeing those dumbass plays that lose games.

The two WR's in question haven't had any taunting penalties since then, but they've done half a dozen other stupid and/or selfish things since then. Hurray - progress?
So apparently Johnson did get up in front of the team and apologized not only for the lack of effort but for not owning that he didn't give any effort afterwards but instead tried to make excuses. And promised from now on he will play to the whistle.

Dionte can now thank Shazier for taking the focus off of him.

Some say Pickens has corrected this. Evidently not.Earlier this week, former Steelers running back Merril Hoge, who breaks down film the way a mechanic takes apart a car, was on the DVE Morning Show ripping into Pickens for continually running lazy routes. Hoge even pointed to a specific play against the Bengals in which Pickett misfired on a crossing route to Pickens — not because Pickett was wide with the throw, he said, but because the second-year receiver was not going full-speed and wasn’t where he was supposed to be.

Sounds like Tomlin will surprise them w a game plan centered around running the ball
Well, they suck against the run too.
Cards have a bad defense, probably worse than the Bungals. Hopefully, the new and improved Steelers offense can put up more than one TD this week.

Arizona has one of the worst run Ds in the entire league at stopping the run. I could see both Najee and Jaylen going for 100 yards each. They give up 4.5 yards per carry. I could see this game being over in 2.5 hours if we run the rock successfully.
Their corners being out is just a cherry on top.
Guess I’m nuts to think this way
If KP and the passing offense can’t make strides in this one, when can they?
I’d like to see a few TD passes. Call me a rebel
I mean Kenny has 6 through 11 games….its silly to expect more than that
Yes I know….he should have more. Looking at you George for lazily getting one foot down and looking at you DJ for being a pussy at times
I WANT TWO FUCKING PASSING TDS IN THE ZONA GAME!!

AZ has been a bottom 2-3 defense the last two years. This year they're giving up 26+ per game and are really bad vs both run and pass. Steelers should have 3 TDs at minimum on offense and run for 175+ yards.Jizz Mop wrote: ↑Fri Dec 01, 2023 10:07 pmGuess I’m nuts to think this way

That's about the worst take I've see on that Play and pretty damn far from reality if you ask me. The damn thing went viral nationwide and tour take is the Polar opposite of everything I've seen.Louis Lipps Service wrote: ↑Tue Nov 28, 2023 9:56 pmI'm not a DJ fan at all, and I have plenty of complaints about him myself.
But I think this whole thing is a classic example of armchair QBs reading way too much into a video clip.
If you watch the whole clip, the entire team stopped and watched the ball rolling on the ground.
Every single one of them.
They all thought Warren was down and that the ball came out well after.
Most of the Bengal players did too.
DJ is just getting singled out because he seemingly dropped a TD a few seconds before, and then just happened to be the closest one to the ball on this play.
And I don't particularly care about him not firing off the ball either. WRs do that all the time on short yardage plays. In fact, if you watch the video again, Pickens did essentially the same thing on the side of the field.

If we run for 5 TD's between Warren, Najee and Pickett I'll be overjoyed.Jizz Mop wrote: ↑Fri Dec 01, 2023 10:07 pmGuess I’m nuts to think this way

TD's matter but how you get them doesn't.
If we put up 30+ points offensively I'll be overjoyed.
Couldn't give a single fuck if any of those TD's came on passing plays.

I think anyone watching could logically say hitting those throws down the middle gave Kenny a confidence boost he definitely needed. He still has happy feet at times and is double-clutching, throwing off some timing. So there's a lot of improvement needed but I believe more confidence moves the needed there and nothing would give help his confidence like 2 or 3 TD throws. That monkey has to be getting heavy.Jizz Mop wrote: ↑Fri Dec 01, 2023 10:07 pmGuess I’m nuts to think this way

Howard Griffith had to resort to chop-blocking him during the 1997 AFC Championship Game. An incredulous Kirkland asked Griffith, “Why do you have to use cheap tactics like chop-blocking?” Griffith replied “Why do you have to be a 300-pound linebacker?”
This is a point you and Swiss seem to get stuck on.TD's matter but how you get them doesn't.
How we get TDs in any particular game matters not as long as we get them. 1,000% agree there.
However, when your starting QB who was a 1st round pick has but 6 TDs at this point in the season it’s an issue.
ESPECIALLY when he’s historically dead last in terms of TD% per this many attempts.
I don’t care if we have 4 TDs via QB sneaks tomorrow. I don’t care if fat Percy Harvin runs them in.
Big picture though, it is an issue that KP has treated the EZ like Kryptonite.
Any below average JAG can get you 6 passing TDs by this late in the season.
Except when it's DJ, right?
Your head is so far up Kenny's ass you can't even keep your bullshit straight.

Well, I can assure you that if Pickett finishes the year with under 10 TD passes, but the Steelers finish with 10 or 11 wins, he's going to be the starter next season.955876 wrote: ↑Sun Dec 03, 2023 12:19 amThis is a point you and Swiss seem to get stuck on.TD's matter but how you get them doesn't.

I mean, you're simply going to have to deal with this JAG as your team's QB.
Personally, I think the team led by this JAG is capable of winning a playoff game or two.
Putting points on the board running the ball or passing isn't what the game is about.
Winning is....and right now, that JAG is winning.

Um....DJ cost his QB a TD pass in the last game and almost gave up a TD because he didn't give any kind of an effort on a play where Warren fumbled.

I think they are capable of winning a playoff game too. Whether they do or not remains to be seen.
I want a team that can compete for a SB though, not just win playoff game. And it’s my expectation that a QB taken in the first be competent enough to achieve that should all the other pieces be in place.
Otherwise they wouldn’t have ultimately been worth the 1st.
Im happy they’ve been able to win too. Duh. I hope they keep winning.
I’ve just not seen enough from KP to believe he can QB us to a championship. And for all the wins, we are squeaking by at 16.5 points per game or whatever.
That won’t be enough.
I can be happy we won a game while at the same time having genuine concerns the guy has been in the historically bad category for a lot of things that sort of matter for a QB.
Nothing I’m saying is unreasonable. You just have this weird addiction to defending the guy at every turn.
It’s ok if people are critical. They should be. We should all be critical of all players.
Especially first round picks.
If Broderick Jones was giving up sacks at historically bad rate could we not have concerns over it?
If JPJ was getting beaten like a drum would you say but but but he’s going to start next year so deal with it??
Why is reading anything critical of KP so triggering for you?
This is the part that’s so hilarious.
I’m not defending Pickett. I’m helping you live in reality.
Every day here, over and over and in every thread, you let everyone know Pickett is a JAG and isn’t good enough because he doesn’t throw enough TD passes.
The Steelers are 7-4 and have a great chance at winning 10 or
11 games. 12 isn’t out of the question.
You aren’t making any changes as to who the starting QB for the Steelers is or will be going forward. Neither will I or
Kodiak, Perch, B2B or anybody else on this board.
Pickett will be the QB until he isn’t winning enough games. Lack of TD passes or not.
You’re “triggered”
So you’re wasting your time bitching. Plain and simple. It’s like how badly you want “Jibbs” fired. Good. That also ain’t happening and like the rest of us, you have to live with that.
I sure hope these revelations that anyone with half a brain knows are true aren’t too overwhelming for you. Either way, you’ll accept it….because you have to. You have no ability to make any changes but go back to crying about Pickett and his lack of end zone success through the air.
This time someone in the Steelers front office might take notice!!

Agree wholeheartedly with your response, KC.
Here in Pittsburgh for the game today, and yesterday met up with my high school coach, Bill Priatko, oldest living ex-Steeler at 92 years old. We were of the same opinion, that there was more fuss last week on exceeding 400 yards than there was about winning the fuckin' game.
Obviously, would like to score more points, but this team continuing to win is all that matters. And I'm not necessarily buying that more points are necessary to win playoff games. Would not be at all surprised if Steelers can beat the Ravens, for instance, first round, by a 16-13 margin....onto KC, maybe and we'll see what happens there, but not believing we need to score 30 to beat the Chiefs.

2 years ago Mahomes and the KC offense was very similar to this year, TH last year on the team. Mahomes was at his career low 7.4 YPA, this year it's now his career low at 7.1 YPA. Their defense has been surprisingly top 5, maybe his best that he's ever had? They are young but quick and make alot of plays, and Jones is healthy.DP39 wrote: ↑Sun Dec 03, 2023 2:47 pmTrue.
