Just watched some highlights. Holee shit can this kid move for a lineman.

I love that Mike Tomlin hoped for an answer like “to face better competition” when the player in question moved within the same conference.
Yeah, that raised my eyebrow too!

Maybe better competition in practice? Oregon has way better athletes across the board than the Buffs.
Now that of course

My only annoyance is giving up the 4th, but we had to do it.
When you realize that Dan Moore Jr was the best 4th round pick they've made in the last 20 years you'll get over that really quickly.

Also, fun fact - the 4th round actually has a higher bust rate than the 5th round across the NFL. Figure that one out.

OK, I did some quick research via google, and the author of this article (Derrick Bell) is a guy in his mid-20s who lives in Louisville and works at UPS.

I'm calling bullshit that he is privy to conversations between Mike Tomlin and Minkah Fitzpatrick.

I’m no draft expert but listening to B2B and Korey, seems like other O-linemen would be there later, and Gonzalez was sitting there and we need a corner really badly. And he actually lasted until 17.

Don’t know about this one.
This is how I feel. Should have taken Gonzalez. We will need an Elite lockdown CB as the AFC is LOADED with QB & WR talent. Ravens signed LJ and then drafted Flowers. Gonzalez could be Rod Woodson 2.0

Yeah, you can't trust a guy that makes right turns 90% of the time on the job.

Hope you didn't spend too much time researching that.

Just so no one thinks I spent too much time on this.....

His bio on the article says he's a Louisville grad who's been covering the Steelers since 2019.

I googled "Derrick Bell Louisville" and this came up: https://www.google.com/search?client=fi ... TdPcM&ip=1

Then I jumped over to the All Steelers youtube page, and yep, same guy: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7DMpL6WTJsE

Took me 2 minutes.

Comedy hour was.....OK. The headliner was James Johann, who was great. Rest of the lineup was 4 local guys - 2 of them sucked, 1 was OK, and 1 was really goddamn funny. It was open bar, so that was nice.

It’s a medicine pick. I would have loved JPJ here but if this is how you support your QB investment.
Well, they can still have him if they want him so bonus getting both if that’s how it plays out.

I cant believe there are people complaining about this pick. Jets fans are in pure meltdown over it - they knew this was the guy.

And as far as his response to being drafted, watch the extended video - he puts the hat on and celebrates. He's a kid lets not read too much into the initial video like it indicates he wasn't happy.

Video on YouTube from his hometown local news station. He's clearly elated. Like super elated.

I can't imagine anyone not being excited to be drafted by the Steelers unless there are some serious underlying issues. Things haven't been great recently, but we're still one of the most prestigious teams in the league.

He's got all the physical skills and as it appears on his highlight reel, likes to pancake defenders and finish the play until the whistle. I like it. Needs to hone his technique, tho. Hopefully O line coach can help. . .

I just saw a clip of him being all smiles and looking like a pig in shit after hearing his name called.

All comes down to the clip and the edit.

I don’t think he has an issue coming here. Did he really want to be a Jet??

Hard to see that.

I like the pick. We badly needed to upgrade that position.

Hopefully they can hit on these next two pics.

This was a great pick. The Steelers now have promising young players at the highest paid, most important positions on offense, all on cheap rookie deals:

QB - Pickett
LT - Jones
WR - Pickens

It's impossible to know how these guys will pan out. But, if things go their way, the Steelers will have an enormous cap advantage over the next 3+ seasons. They could potentially get $100M of production for like $20M. That's the advantage the Bungs are currently (not for long!) reaping with Burrow, Chase, and Higgins.

I thought Meyer quietly did a good job last year. The OL took a lot of heat but in reality they were middle of the pack, which was an improvement over previous seasons.

Jones was a great pick. There were only 2 elite natural LTs in this draft and we got 1. Nice work. And even the patsies did us a solid by below market trade value. To screw the jets or make up for decades of cheating? Idk but either way thanks bill.

Dan Moore is a bottom 10 percentile LT in this league. No offense Dan. He’s a backup.

We won’t see how far Kenny can take this offense and team till we have top end OL play. Gettin’ better doesn’t cut it. I like starting great ending great no no drop off in middle a lot better

Moore is not bottom 10%, he is actually fairly close to average for the position. I think he would make a very nice swing tackle/back up. Moore improved over course of last season, not enough for PS to view as the future but definitely enough to be seen as a good back up.

He’s delusional too. Tweeted that Jones was Chuks replacement.

I’d laugh if a part of me wasn’t at least a lil concerned this team would do something dumb like move Jones to RT.

He was supposedly a really good basketball player growing up. That is what they are attributing his quick feet to from what I have read and heard in the analysis.

Seriously.
I think the 2nd most winning team since the merger and 2nd or 3rd most winning team since the Y2K scare. These players could do a lot worse and end up in Cleveland or a myriad of other teams that usually are vying to attain 3rd or 4th place in the division.

Broderick Jones said he will wear No. 77 with Steelers to honor his Georgia teammate Devin Willock who was killed in a car accident.
This is the good shit I want to hear. He is still thinking of his lost brother and wants to honor him. Sounds like a quality human being.
