Watching Red Zone and following on my phone totally sucks

Why is it not possible to simply order a game on my tv in an era of Netflix and Pay Per View?

We landed a Rover on Mars....surely we can make it possible for a Steeler fan in NJ to order a game and view it on his smart tv

Fuck

basically has every choice possible. Was a little hinky for the first couple weeks of the season but has been smooth sailing lately. Gives you multiple choices for each game. I find Grandmastreamz the best experience.

I tried 3-4 feeds last week and they were all crap. I'm guessing with just 3 afternoon games and bars closed that the traffic was overwhelming the servers.

The nice thing about Gamepass is you can try the free feeds, but if you strikeout Gamepass gives you the option to watch from the start, or join live in-progress.

It’s funny I haven’t had a bad feed in years but I do tend to go to the same providers regularly. Buffstreams grandma. Solaris

If I am using a stream for and event I usually go down about 60 percent of the way down the list & usually get a good feed.

That makes sense. I didn't go very far down the list. But when the game has started, you don't want to spend a lot of time looking for a decent feed.

Gamepass isn't flawless, either, but it's close. I have watched a few games on surge that WERE flawless. It all comes down to how many people are watching a feed.

My new neighbor is a Packers fan and gave me this link for all games

http://bilasport.net/nfl.html

His instructions were "don't click on anything but the game / preview links and you'll be fine." Sometimes even just clicking on the game link opens a non related additional window but you can just close it and re-click the game link on the main page. Most games have at least 2 options for the links. The "alternate feed" often comes out of Canada which is actually refreshing as you get totally different commercials and the wrap up folks after the game give a different perspective than the Fox & CBS folks were used to.

All in all it has worked out quite well - I've used it 3 times over the last 6 weeks when we weren't on regular TV in my area and always get to see the entire game. I hook my PC up to the TV using a HSBI cable and that does the trick. Every now & then it gets a little "choppy" but for the most part it feel just like watchin it on TV.

bilasport works great, too. (it's one of the streaming services listed on sp*rtsurge. However, for the NHL... usually the NHL feeds can be paused/rewound/skipped ahead (based on the link form NHL.com, I guess), so I'm fond of watching the games later in the evening. Bilasport takes its feeds down relatively early compared to other streamers... so you can miss the game if you didn't bookmark another feed.

For the NFL, it's great though.

Related, I got the chromecast with google tv and that was a great rec, guys!

Comes with a voice activated remote, which is great for searching all your free and paid tv/movie services. It's not the easiest set-up in the world to use the VLC app to stream from your pc or media server. But casting from chrome (like for an NFL feed) works really well, once I remembered to create an exception for the chromecast on my VPN. And I actually have it plugged into my A/V Receiver.

Pro tip: If you are connected to a VPN, your home networked devices will barely work, if at all. Which, yeah, should have been obvious.

I used that link in s u r ge this weekend and the picture for the STeelers game was spectacular. I was in awe that it was a streaming channel..I think possibly they were getting it from an OTA antenna which is not compressed. Anyway...try a few links further down the list and you'll no doubt find a good one.

Onhockey dot TV is great for hockey from all over the world including NHL in HD.

Had to watch the Bengals game on my phone between customers at work this past weekend. A customer turned me on to an app called dofusports. He said it works for all sports. Use the YouTube feed. Some annoying pop-ups loading it but the feed was great. Had it on my phone the whole game with no interruptions including while I was driving home in the 4th quarter. Going to try it on my TV tomorrow.
Howard Griffith had to resort to chop-blocking him during the 1997 AFC Championship Game. An incredulous Kirkland asked Griffith, “Why do you have to use cheap tactics like chop-blocking?” Griffith replied “Why do you have to be a 300-pound linebacker?”

Yeah, you guys are proving my point: there are plenty of good sources out there if you’re willing to get acclimated to how it works. I have literally watched games while living/traveling all over the world.

Yup. I've done the same. The only problem is the time change. Staying up for a 1 am start time for a hockey game can be brutal when trying to get over jet lag. Then there's scheduling shit around delayed game starts.

Yeah sitting by the pool in the morning in the Philippines watching the Coyotes and Steelers games on my laptop while on vacation was pretty cool. I haven't paid for any TV in over a decade other than my monthly internet. Sports, movies, tv shows, anything is available if you search.

Does anyone have YouTubeTV and know how to get it to change location, so it shows a local market network feed?

I'm in NY and can use VPN to go to a server in Charlotte, for example. But YouTuibeTV still shows me in NY (plus you can only change your home location a couple times a year).

If I could find a VPN with a server in Pittsburgh, does that help to get any local feed?

Haven't tried, but I'm guessing the culprit is cookies or being signed in. More than a little disturbing that Google still knows where you are even on a VPN. I do not sign in to Google or MS if I can help it.

anyway....went down the feeds a bit on surge today and it was good. Many very minor hiccups and freezes (and I had high bitrate and bandwidth feed), but didn't miss any action.

grandma feed for MIN sucked....found another great feed though

youtubetv app with a gps spoofer on tablet or phone, then use adapter for hdmi cable to tv to avoid wifi location when casting.

youtubetv allows mobile viewing from out of home area but the device must be in home area logged in at least once a month, i believe it is. allows for college kids to stream at school using parents account hotel usage while travelling etc. only 3 streams simultaneously tho per acct.

All you all have to do is on Facebook search for

Professional Football-Youtube

Subscribe to that channel. Dude will post youtube links to Redzone and EACH game each week

Not sure how he is doing it or why it isn't being shut down but it is insane. Currently watching Redzone this way at my Brother in Laws house as he has no cable or direct tv. He said he can never get any games through his smarttv because all the different apps like hulu, cbs, etc doesn't really show live games except once in a while on amazon or something. I was like watch this.

He about fainted

I have no clue how he is doing it but please trust me it works

He put a freaking youtube link for the Tyson pay per view happening tonight. I am currently watching the undercard on my tv through my ps4 using the fb link he put for it.

That thing was what. 50.00?
