Skipper to the Giants
Field Yates
@FieldYates
The Giants claimed former Steelers LB Tuzar Skipper off of waivers, per source.
Awesome. At least they held on to Chickillo!

Fuck!
Dave Gettleman would have done anything today at Edge after the most non-existent pass rush yesterday.
With all our LB depth, if we protected Skipper we could have traded away any pass rush help and at least got something in return.

Our front office is officially a failure

i am seriously thinking about changing my screenname to "They Are Trolling Us"
Watt, Ola, Skipper would have been a nice trio of OLBs next year.
As usual, Tomlin can’t see the forrest through the trees and opts to keep a below par Jag in Matekavich.
We have Bush, Barron, V. Williams, and Grant at MLB
For dogs for two bones yet we just had to keep dirty red.
The timid way this team goes about its business is sickening.
I bet Tomlin’s office has newspaper piddle pads all over it for all those times he isn’t “living in his fears”...

That sucks! However, after my expectations for the defense rudely met reality last night, I am not so sure I can believe what my eyes saw with Skipper during preseason anyway.

They'd coach any success out of him don't worry

Seems like an obvious misstep unless the Steelers thought Ola and Tuzar were redundant. Please make a move for either a tight end or another safety.

Just ridiculous. Unreal.
Finally retired: 31DEC25
He finally quit: 13JAN26

"Steady" but unspectacular vets over good young talent that may make that "dreaded rookie mistake" has been the mainstay of how this team coaches all the way back to at least Cowher.
We don't beat New England more often because we do one or more of several things that are stupid.
*We try what's worked before and are slow to adjust when it doesn't
*We try and trick Belichick
*We play afraid to fail

I think this kid has a really, really nice future.
Good luck to him in NYC.
Die in a fire, Colbert and Dumblin.

But why not try to trade some of our OLB depth for a backup TE???
It was so stupid to cut him. They clearly put him on the 53 because they thought he was a real danger to be stolen. He was the leading sack man of the preseason after all. Not under the radar.
So, knowing all that, these motherfckers exposed him to waivers all to get Holton on the fckin team for the Pats game. Boy that move really helped our WR roster.
How fckin blind is this front office? You know Dupree is a dumpster fire. He confirmed it again last night. You know Chick is a JAG. Skipper had strength, bend, a powerful punch, and great pass rushing instincts. And, you let him go because you want a 6th fckin receiver for the Pats game?
Fck me.

Getting Holton back wasn't the issue. i think Holton can develop as a deep threat and a special teamer.
It's keeping UTTER PIECES OF SHIT like Ryan Switzer or Chickillo. Cut one of these rotten cunts.
THAT is the issue to me, not Holton.

KC,
I agree with you 100%. Lots of cunts on the team right now to cut. But, even if you value those JAGs...even if you think Switz, Chick, and Big Red are needed for a Championship...you don't cut the best pass rusher you've had in forever in favor of a #6 receiver. It's crazy.

I lose a little more fandom of my Steelers every year due to Tomlin’s utter stupidity. Not really sure how much more I can lose without totally walking away. Thankfully, my wife has saved me the last couple of years by planning family outings on Sundays when the Steelers play. My demeanor was much more even keel last year not watching the game. Sure I checked scores when I could, but I didn’t experience the level of disappointment and anger I do when I watch a game. I have often disagreed with Tomlin’s player eveluations, but I’m not a coach and privy to all of the info that leads to that determination. For he eye test tells me all I need to know. Skipper is gonna be a beast for the Giants! Happy for him because he would never have played here all season. Ola doesn’t even get a look so Skipper we have ridden pine, even if he dressed. I’ll be rooting for the kidney to remind myself how much of a total fucking tool Tomlin is!

KC, unfortunately we're gonna need Diontae Johnson to make a big leap AND be completely trusted by Dumblin to field a punt

I get your point but if you're going to pick up a receiver, cut another receiver. Does anybody ANYWHERE think the ice cream man gets another job in the NFL if the Steelers cut him?
Fuck no he doesn't.
Rather than cutting skipper, does anybody ANYWHERE think Chickillo or Matakevich are immediately grabbed by another team if they're cut? And if they are, who would give a fuck?
Exposing Skipper was beyond moronic for sure. So many others could have been cut instead. Fuck, cut Benny Snell before you cut Skipper.
