Bold move that salvages a terrible end to the season and a lackluster start to the offseason.

I’m sure this guy is light years ahead of Saxon.
I mean it was clear that Saxon was a huge problem last year.

I wonder if he will help Danny "Short Bus" Smith with ST's...

It's not meant to be this. They needed a RB coach, so they hired one, that's all.

Could it be that they feel Saxon's strengths didnt align with where the offense is going in the future and so they hired this guy who was most recently a tight end coach?

don't bother trying to be reasonable, gyst. They will only be satisfied with blood... and bitching.

As a “they”, I’d rather you not put words in my mouth.
I, representing most of the posters in the “they“ cult, would have been very satisfied with a firing of Mike Tomlin.
I’m left feeling unsatisfied.

Danny Smith seems to have a good handle on ST’s
My gut tells me his is next in line for the HC position when Tomlin eventually walks into the sunset....
On his own terms of course

Very happy with this hire. 2nd good off-season move after Porter being shown the door. I like and see this on the surface as decent move. I'm still a little perplexed by letting Saxon go, but this appears to be a good (positive) replacement.
- Coach has a long and diverse resume.
- Has brains!
- Hes well rounded, meaning not just a running coach, but our preferred style of RB is no longer a "cloud of dust" power running game. The RB needs to do it all going forward. Hes the guy for that!
- My opinion is; he was also hired to make Danny Smiths seat VERY hot. I believe hes next in line for special teams coach, if they drop Danny next year. I was hoping this year, but with all the other changes and crap going on, I can see why Tomlin, Butler & Smith needs to stay stable for at least another season.
Hoping Faneca and Kevin Greene are in the process of being hired now.

You're not suggesting this was a "bold move that salvages a terrible end to the season and a lackluster start to the offseason", are you?

No we just want his ass fired. It's absolutely hilarious that you don't.

He was probably the cheapest guy out there too
Remember that we only "fire" coaches who don't have term left on contracts

Sweet. Perhaps they can focus on a QB coach?
over, and over, and over, and over again. And again. And again. ad nauseum. as do others. Doesn't it get old typing the same shit over, and over, and over, and over, and over again. And again. repeatedly? Literally every thread, every topic is fuck tomlin, kill tomlin, it's tomlin's fault. We get it. Repeating it everywhere isn't going to make it happen. Besides, isn't there a fuck, kill, fire tomlin thread already? Can't you guys just go over there if you want to vent?bradshaw2ben wrote:BarryFoster wrote:As a “they”, I’d rather you not put words in my mouth.

Arguing with idiots is like playing chess with a pigeon. No matter how good you are, the pigeon is going to shit on the board and strut around like it won anyway.

No because every aspect of the team is under the stewardship of this rich kotite clone, so no matter the thread, it will always come back to the enabler and fraud of a HC that we have.

Greek, I love you man, but if you can't see that this coach is better than Rich Kotite, you might get on your hands and knees and look to see where those marbles went.

I wish they bring in Kevin Greene for the OLB we should have hired him a few years ago. The other point is MM had a Assistant in Sarrett and wonder when they will give him one maybe bring in one for him maybe Big Red

Yes, Tomlin is better than perhaps the worst coach in recent history.
Release the balloons.
Well Tomlin did win a SB and was in another and to say he is the worst coach really?
