Re: Mettard officiall sued for defamation
You're right, of course legally, but the problem is that plaintiffs should not be encouraged to ask for absurd numbers.

I wouldn't mind reasonable punitive damages if they went to charity or to support the cost of the court. They shouldn't be used as a lottery ticket if they are a deterrent.

Oh I didn't mind the defamation suit, but the number should make sense. That blue haired freak won't make 100M in a hundred lifetimes.
If it were say 100K I think we are in the ballpark, depending on what the guy does for a living.

There needs to be tort reform with loser pays and out at third. If you ask for a ridiculous amount of money, and the real number is a lot less, you get NOTHING and like it. You don't try to steal third, fail and go back to second base because you got greedy. Also, what the fuck were the victim's dam...

Re: Steelers-linked Catherine O'Hara trivia
Yeah I agree 1987-1993 was the best cast without any weakness (Miller, Hartman, Myers, Carvey, Hooks, Nealon, then Farley Spade) and then later the Bill Hader Kristen Wiig cast was good but in 1990 In Living Color was the best comedy show on the air along with the Simpsons. By 1990 the SCTV cast was...

Re: Steelers-linked Catherine O'Hara trivia
SNL was NEVER the funniest comedy show on TV. In the 70s, SCTV was better, in the 80s it sucked until about 1987 then In Living Color and Simpsons was better, then in the 00s Chapelle and SouthPark was better, in the 10s possibly in the early decade with Bill Hader they were the best but then Key an...

The 70s drafts after 74 were pretty meh and set up the 80s lean years, I don't think they had another good draft until '87.

The general managers who would kill to sign Tomlin are clearly having a holster malfunction or those weapons would already be drawn and discharged.

It's got to be one way or the other.
If he legit won 6 SBs as a HC and 2 as a DC he is a first ballot HOF.
If he is not a HOF because of cheating, then the championships should be vacated.

Re: "The Fish Rots From The Head Down" aka Art Rooney II's Awful Leadership is THE Problem
Given what New England did and even what the Bears did, the only alternative to win now is win in two years. No one has the patience for a long rebuild and the bullshit that some people talk about deliberately taking for a franchise QB and a magical OL just never works out.

Seriously, I am worried about the guy's health.
He looks like an MI waiting to happen.
Coaching is so demanding that I think a screening physical is not a bad idea.
Seriously I don't want to see him arrest in the middle of a game.

We live in a world where that happens AND Shadeur is a pro-bowler and Tomlin is a shoo-in that teams would kill for but won't call him. https://townsquare.media/site/622/files/2012/10/bizarro03.jpg It's arguable that BB should get in as a DC not even including his unreal success with the Pats as HC.

There were supposed to be about six shiny new QB playthings in this draft and it's down to one...the only QB who outperformed expectations and will rightly be drafted number one.
This year was a record number of QB college disappointments.
And I'm not even sure Mendoza will be better than Howard.

Re: Conference Championship Sunday Thread
Fans and sportswriters are full of shit. Sam Darnold didn't need to prove his "dignity" to the fanbase or to the press. The fact that he is even in the NFL means he is easily in the top .01 percent of people who have ever tried being a QB. He is far better at what he does than the average fan's job ...
