Re: Mettard officiall sued for defamation
I wouldn't mind reasonable punitive damages if they went to charity or to support the cost of the court. They shouldn't be used as a lottery ticket if they are a deterrent. THIS^^^^^ That’s exactly where I was going with my first post…. The fact remains. If dude wasn’t there abusing his privileges ...

Re: Faulkner goes to the Ratbirds
i actually want to see every tomlin coach gone and watt and hayward. Heyward is actually doing something at the SB. As close as he'll ever get to being in one. A fact that probably doesn't even register with Scam. Kind of funny to me to have an NFL guy doing some SB bit when the closest he's come t...

Re: Mettard officiall sued for defamation
Oh I didn't mind the defamation suit, but the number should make sense. That blue haired freak won't make 100M in a hundred lifetimes. If it were say 100K I think we are in the ballpark, depending on what the guy does for a living. You're not considering punitive damages, which are probably availab...

Re: Mettard officiall sued for defamation
Only in America can you benefit by playing victim. Metcalf lost his cool and nearly cost his team, but in hindsight he showed restraint with this toolbox. Anyway, anyone who thought Metcalf should get traded over this (considered it myself) should re-think the wisdom of that. I wouldn't mind seeing...

Re: "The Fish Rots From The Head Down" aka Art Rooney II's Awful Leadership is THE Problem
We'll see how it works out, but this is just not the disaster people are making it out to be. Deuce, for all his faults, correctly recognized the entire coaching staff was a dumpster fire. I also agree this roster is at least average talent, and one good draft away from contending. A putrid coachin...

Re: I want to know the real Post Steelers Tomlin story...
I have no doubt that if Tomlin wanted to coach he'd have been hired this cycle. I'm sure Art II would have nothing but positives to say to any owner asking and it'd make me gag to here (unlike Belichick who Kraft allegedly tanked to other owners who are stupid in general). He has a good reputation....

Re: McDermott fired in Buffalo
The idea of firing McDermott and hiring Tomlin is like firing Rodgers and signing Stroud, if Stroud played for 19 years like he did yesterday. Actually, you guys are missing that this is nearly the exact situation Tomlin took over in 2007. I would actually say Tomlin has the best chance of the retr...

You're right. I mentioned Cowher, but Arians would also be a better choice for the Bills than Mikey T.

Re: McDermott fired in Buffalo
Tomlin went to 2 Super Bowls with a QB a LOT like Josh Allen. Cool Shades has a Super Bowl ring. That can’t be denied. While Tomlin’s message grew stale in Pittsburgh, it would be fresh in Buffalo and the Bills’ window is closing. They are about winning NOW, YESTERDAY. They probably won’t be intere...

Re: Divisional round playoff games
I love how aggressive both McVay and Johnson were. After Caleb's last INT, McVay immediate goes up-tempo no huddle and attacks to win the game. It's essentially the opposite of the Tomlin ball we've watched for 2 decades. Put Ben with a guy like McVay and he'd have probably won at least one MVP. Hi...

Re: Trade TJ Watt. Now.
Probably too late now. Maybe the Lions would be willing to give something, but it might have to be a Ostweiler like trade where the Steelers give away Watt and a good draft pick in exchange for a low pick and the resulting cap relief of getting out of a bad contract. I'd like to see DK sent away too.

Sean McVay has more playoff wins, and more Super Bowls than Mike Tomlin's entire 19 years in Pittsburgh. He was hired in 2017. Tomlin is a good coach, but let's not act like we did anything exceptionally well since 2010. 2011 - lost to Tebow 2012 - missed playoffs 2013 - started 0-4 missed playoffs...

He completely was fired or "forced out" whatever you want to call it. Art 2 was not being totally honest and he avoided the question about the Option Year like the plague. Also, you are correct, that if Tomlin really was walking away on his own, he would have done a kiss-ass press conference to say...

The Steelers are never willing to strategically take a step back in the short term, in the hopes of laying the foundation for a Super Bowl team. Owner Art Rooney II wants to win it all, every year. Tomlin/Steeler week was Tom Brady's favorite. He barely had to work up a sweat in preparation for our D which was a) predictable and b) prone to busted coverages. Chris Hogan anyone? No way Brady wants to hire Tomlin. He'll praise him like a Vince Lombardi in public but he won't mean a word of it. ...

Most of it was meaningless cliches, but I found this one funny and weird at the same time: "Don't blink. If you're a blinker, cut your eyelids off" The irony is that he obviously blinked a lot. Obviously. I thought it was funny that Art 2 used the word obviously in his press release about Tomlin's ...
